It was pretty hot today. In fact, it’s a lot hotter than I realized. Maybe that’s why I was tired again today. I really don’t handle extreme heat very well. It’s supposed to hit 100 today, and it feels close to that.
I remember a trip out west that I took about a million years ago, and in New Mexico how shocked I was to find that the temperature was so high. It didn’t feel like New Jersey heat because the air was very dry. Today, for example the humidity is 63 which is a bit on the low side for here.
Spent a lot of time today going over many of Lee’s posts (a couple of which I will post tomorrow). The posts where he writes about his family are particularly moving–Lee’s family was so much like mine–.

That’s why I’m a Westerner, and hope always to remain one. The first time I was west of the Minnesota/South Dakota border, I was 10 years old, and I loved what I saw in the American west. 90 is just a nice day, in these parts, and it really doesn’t get unpleasant until it hit 110 F.
110 in New Jersey is life-threatening. The humidity makes our body cooling system (evaporation) far less effective.
I would imagine so. When I was a child, in Minnesota, days in the 80s were scorchers, because of the humidity. Out here, 85 is almost chilly. 🙂
