I am signed up to get wireless service from Verizon.
The techs are coming on Monday to install a gizmo that they mailed to me the other day. You remember, the thing that was delivered to the wrong apartment.
Well at 4:00 this afternoon, I got an email from Verizon telling me there was no activity on that account and they want me to contact them ASAP to avoid interruption of service. What service? It’s not even hooked up yet. This is not the only misstep on Verizon’s part. They sent me a bill which I have no way of paying because they are requesting account numbers for me to access my account and I do not have those numbers.
Help!!
I did call the phone number they gave me on the bill
and was connected to a mechanical voice which asked for more numbers.
I am waiting until Monday (when hopefully I can be connected to a human being) to straighten this mess out.
In the words of Indiana Jones “I have a real bad feeling about this.”
Have a good night, all.
See you tomorrow.
God bless everybody.
Patty
That could be a scam trying to get your user information. Call the PUBLISHED number for Verizon and take it up with them. If you get an alarming email that doesn’t make any sense, regarding an account, there’s a very good chance it is a phishing scam.
I am checking it out on Monday via the real Verizon.
It’s very common for scam emails to have phony links designed to harvest you username and password. If there’s a phone number, it’s better to look it up and verify that it’s legitimate. If you are being directed to a website, don’t click the link, but look the company up and go in for the main site.
Absolutely.
