I just spent well over an hour on the phone with Verizon.
I talked to everybody short of Alexander Graham Bell. I was transferred from one department to another, all in the vain quest to get my *69 feature re-instated. I have two callbacks coming tomorrow. I was assured it could be done.
Then about 3 minutes ago, the phone rang and it was a rep from Verizon telling me that the *69 feature is “not compatible” with the voice over internet (or whatever the hell it is that I have now) and does not exist. I really loved that feature and used it a great deal.
One thing that bothers me–I talked to many different people in many different departments and none of them knew about the incompatibility. That’s super basic–either it is or it isn’t. I’m getting this sense of everything moving so fast, and getting so big, so fast, that people involved in it don’t know what they should. For the “information age” this era does not show me much.
I am drained.
I was tired today because I woke up at 2:00 AM and could not get back to sleep. I kept falling asleep and waking up again in what seemed like ten minute intervals. So I woke up tired.
Tomorrow has got to be better than today.
