Who ever said that animals can’t think and even reason.

My daughter has 4 pets.   Two cats and two dogs.

This story is about the dogs–or dog, rather.

She has a 12 year old pit bull, Boo.  You’ve seen the pictures of Boo with Jax (when he was a kitten and now when he’s a great big boy.)  She also has a dog named Snoopy.  She adopted him a few years ago.  And the cat she rescued, Star.

Boo has started physical therapy for her arthritis.  When I can I will send you a film of that–it’s just adorable.  Because of logistics, they took Boo to physical therapy on her own.  When they came home, my daughter noticed a box in the living room was disturbed and there was a small tear in the cover.  This is the box with the leashes.  The next day, when they came home the box was moved out more and the tear was somewhat bigger.  The light bulb went on and Georgia (my daughter) realized that because they had taken Boo by herself to therapy, Snoopy had figured out that if he got his leash out for them, they would have taken him, too.  This is not only feelings, this is thinking, actual reasoning, even problem-solving. From now on,they are going to take both dogs to the therapy place.  They can take Snoopy for a walk outside while Boo has her water exercise and other therapy.

What an amazing feat of reasoning that was.

I stand in awe of the wonderful creatures that God has given us to be our loving companions.  They have God’s handprints all over them.

Have a good night, all–(now that it’s getting dark at 4:30.)

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

Patty
