Again, again! ‘Behold the Mountain’

The news this morning is so disgusting, I may decide not to report it, after all.

But this is the good news: “Behold, the Mountain of the Lord in latter days shall rise!”

Yes, I know, I’ve posted this hymn before. Well, I need it just now. I need the solace. I need the inspiration. My heart is full now. I’m ready to begin my work.

Again, Again! ‘Behold the Mountain’

I can’t sing this old-time Scottish hymn–not without my voice breaking, and my eyes tearing up.This is one to fill the soul.

Here we have it sung by the congregation at the First Presbyterian Church in Trinity, Alabama.

Turn up the volume. The Lord shall tread down all His enemies.

A Glorious Hymn: ‘Behold the Mountain of the Lord’

Wow! I’d never heard this hymn before, and it very nearly blew me out of my chair. Turn up the volume on this one! An army of the Lord might march to it.

Behold, the Mountain of the Lord–published in Scotland in 1781, sung here by Godfrey Birtill.

Anybody got a version with bagpipes?
