I guess you could call this a quality of life issue.
Among my favorite relaxations, one of Dell’s crossword puzzle magazines, Solver’s Choice, stands out. It’s been published for 25 years, I’ve been with this publication all the way–and now they want to stop it. Why? Who knows!
First football, then basketball, and finally baseball got ruined for me–but I still had my favorite puzzles in Solver’s Choice. It always contained puzzles compatible with adult minds. Lots of puzzles, lots of entertainment. And now they want to drop it.
Are people just too poorly educated to cope with these puzzles? I wouldn’t be surprised. The racks are always full of magazines devoted to easy puzzles. By “easy” I mean suitable for 8-year-olds. I have written to Dell asking them to reconsider–but how often does a business change its mind just to please its customers?
Aw, so what? We can always get computers to do our thinking for us.
Fap. Another little door to pleasure slams shut.
