‘A Great and Mighty Wonder’

Suggested by Erlene: A Great and Mighty Wonder, sung by the King’s College Choir at Cambridge.

Keep singing!

By Request, ‘Coventry Carol’

This somber carol commemorates Herod’s massacre of the innocents in Matthew 2:16-18–a reminder that there are evil powers in this world that will stop at nothing in their resistance to God’s plan for humanity’s salvation.

First published in the 16th century, this carol is probably a lot older than that. But its message has not gone out of date.

Performed by the King’s College Choir at Cambridge, requested by Erlene.

Hymn, ‘The Church’s One Foundation’

How about an old-fashioned hymn to wash out the taste of that last news story I posted? I’m sorry for the bad news, but I think we have a duty to know what we’re up against.

The Church’s One Foundation–sung by the King’s College Choir, Cambridge–is, of course, Jesus Christ Our Lord. Not works of the flesh. Not even good works. Not our own righteousness, because we have only the righteousness of Jesus Christ, imputed to us by God’s sovereign grace.

“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.”    I Corinthians 1:30
