An “upmarket” Los Angeles neighborhood has been stripped of its few remaining “No U-Turn” street signs… because they’re (oh, forsooth) “homophobic” (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13532687/Los-Angeles-Homophobic-LGBTQ-Hollywood.html).
It is alleged that the signs had been put up, years ago, to discourage homosexual “hook-ups” in public places. So we guess U-turns are permitted now.
Is this how a civilization dies? Just sayin’. They had a big celebration to mark the removal of the signs. (“No Cruising” went, too.) It is reported that there were a number of area residents who didn’t understand what this was all about. Well, now they do.
This era’s cultural history will be written up in books someday.
