Ontario Scraps ‘Free Money’ Scheme

Last month voters in Ontario sent their liberal bosses packing, after 15 years, and elected a Progressive Conservative government.

This month the new PC government has announced that it will terminate the liberals’ “guaranteed income” experiment, which doled out free money to some 4,000 households in five cities (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/lisa-macleod-announcement-1.4768626).

Of course the leftids are screaming bloody murder over this, as are some of the people who were getting free money without having to work for it. Those heartless conservatives are “making poverty worse” with their “callous, mean-spirited” plan to stop giving people free money worked for and earned by other people.

So far, everywhere this “experiment” has been tried, it’s failed. The new government in Ontario said the policy was simply too expensive and wasn’t the answer Canada needs.

“Universal Basic Income,” or whatever moniker they want to give it, is one of liberals’ dearest pipe dreams. The idea is for you to work while the gavone next door gets paid for playing video games and sleeping till 11:30 every morning. For some reason this never turns out to be very popular.

This is supposed to prepare us for the day when robots do all work and there’s nothing left for human beings to do but, I suppose, further corrupt themselves.
