Our Lawn Is Blooming

God’s stuff always works!

Our lawn is dappled all over with purple dead-nettle–not to mention wild violets in the shady spots, dandelions, and these tiny white wildflowers that I’ve never seen before. And we have a stand on bright yellow flowers around our bird feeder–which, happily, Frank the landlord couldn’t find it in his heart to mow down.

Our yard is awash with color–so much nicer, I think, than just a featureless green lawn. We have daffodils around the doorways, and the tulips are coming up. Our honeybees are busy. Soon, I hope, we’ll see butterflies, too.

We have a wonderful Creator and a glorious Creation.

God: ‘Let There Be Spring’

Yellow Wildflower Guide - Petrified Forest National Park ...

Suddenly we’ve got wildflowers blooming all over the place. A new arrival: tiny little flowers, bright yellow on long stalks,, all around our bird feeder where the birds have dropped seeds. These are interspersed with bright purple wild violets and these little pink ones low to the ground.

This is God’s handiwork, and we rejoice in it. And we rejoice in its message: “God is nigh.

Hard to believe it was snowing like crazy here, just three weeks ago.

Spring is out of the starting gate and running strong!

This morning when I set up my chair outside, I noticed the lawn is dappled with tiny pink flowers, and a lot of little white ones, too. Around the doors of our building, daffodils have bloomed. And our tulips have pushed their way up from the earth.

Deliciously beautiful: God’s handiwork. For which we give thanks.
