The United Kingdom’s new Far Left Crazy Labour Government has announced plans to crack down on “hateful beliefs” (https://www.theguardian.com/society/article/2024/aug/18/extreme-misogyny-to-be-treated-as-form-of-terrorism-under-government-plans). Government will decide whose beliefs are hateful and whose aren’t.
For a while there they were pursuing “misogyny equals terrorism,” but had to give it up because their definition of “terrorism” was getting to be too big and shapeless. They reclassified misogyny as “extremism” and promised “a new approach to fighting extremism.” They are extremely committed to fighting extremism.
Yes, they’re going to lower the boom on persons “pushing harmful and hateful beliefs.” Government will decide which beliefs are hateful and which aren’t. Government is going to do a lot of your thinking for you.
Didn’t take Labour long to toss the Magna Carta, did it?
