Patty, my wife, wants to thank you all for posting birthday greetings here yesterday. It pumped her up to throw caution to the winds and acquire a birthday cake (she hardly ever does that). And she has a nice box of assorted chocolate truffles to go with it.
The exigencies of the election sort of tamped down our celebratory mood last night. There’s a lesson to be learned from that: live life and don’t let the Heathen spoil it. I hope we’ll get a chance to profit by it, come Christmas.
