‘To God Be the Glory’ (Fountainview Academy)

I hope you folks out there aren’t getting tired of my hymn selection, or of these videos from Fountainview Academy, British Columbia. I saw this, their rendition of To God Be the Glory, and couldn’t resist posting it.

Have you noticed that whatever adults there may be training and conducting these kids, you never see them on the video? I salute that!

I Love ‘To God Be the Glory’

Fanny Crosby wrote this hymn in 1875, and it remains well-loved to this day: To God Be the Glory. I like to post assorted renditions of it. Here it is sung outdoors by the choir from Fountainview Academy.

Remember, the hymn shop is always open, and if there’s any hymn you’d like posted here, just let us know.

Again, Again! ‘To God Be the Glory’

There’s so much bizarre and evil news waiting to be written about this morning, I feel positively stymied. So let’s turn to the good news instead.

I’ve posted this hymn many times, and it’s the one I want just now. If there’s one that any of you want, just let me know and I’ll post that, too.

To God Be the Glory–written by Fanny Crosby, here performed by the Apostolic Church Men’s Group. Turn it up, pilgrims–turn it up.

Amen! ‘To God Be the Glory

Something tells me there are a lot of people singing or listening to this hymn, yesterday and today. It’s the one that was with me when I got up today, so don’t blame me for posting it more than once: To God Be the Glory, by Fanny Crosby, 1875.

Turn up the volume! This version is great in stereo.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody

We were supposed to go down to the other end of the state for Thanksgiving dinner at my sister’s, but it’s raining and the Garden State Parkway scares us when it’s wet.

I think the sin I most regret in my life is failure to be thankful to God, every day, for the blessings He has piled onto my plate–every day. Little things like hope, love, eternal life, forgiveness of sins, regeneration of the spirit: not even to mention the things of this world that only God can give–the beauty of His handiwork, all around us. Is there any human agency that can paint the leaves in autumn, and renew them in the spring?

To God be the glory!

Once Again, ‘To God Be the Glory’

I know I post this hymn a lot–To God Be the Glory, by Fanny Crosby (1875)–but on this post-election morning, what hymn could be more appropriate? I went to bed with it ringing in my soul and woke up with it today.

Sing it loud and sing it long.

Encore, ‘To God Be the Glory’

Sorry I’m late, but at the start of the day, my computer had turned itself into a planter and I couldn’t do anything with it. I give God the glory, and give God the thanks, for my wife’s tenacious and skillful attack on this particular problem–in which, as you can see, she was victorious.

Anyway, this is the hymn I wanted for today, so here it is–To God Be the Glory. Amen!

One More Time! ‘To God Be the Glory’

I love this hymn! And it’s been in my head all day, so I hope none of you mind if I post it again: To God Be the Glory, a classic hymn by Fanny Crosby.

By the way, if you’re new to this blog, I want you to know that we do hymn requests: you name it, we’ll post it. And don’t worry if the hymn has already been posted before–we can always post it again.

‘To God Be the Glory’

This hymn has been in my head the past two days, so I’m thinking the Lord would like me to post it–To God Be the Glory, in a rousing rendition by the choir and the congregation of the Church of God. I found it deeply moving.

Encore, ‘To God Be the Glory’

I’ve heard this hymn before, but never with a zillion people singing it, backed up by a full orchestra and the acoustics of the Royal Albert Hall.

And y’know what? It works just as well in the Albert Hall as it works in someone’s living room.
