By Request, ‘Leaning on the Everlasting Arms’

Erlene asked me to post one of my favorite hymns this afternoon–Leaning on the Everylasting Arms–and I opted for this version of it by the Grascals.

I don’t know from country music, never heard of the Grascals–but they do make a sweet harmony, and they do make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

  1. Thank you. I had never heard this rendition, but it is a good representation of southern gospel. Many of these people begin learning to play their instruments when they are still children. I knew some families like this when I was growing up in Missouri. The music began with Dad and Mom, and as the children came along, each was added to the “band”. They entertained themselves and neighbors before TV and only undependable radio.

  2. Thank you, Lee and Erlene. Nice version. Gospel music always warms the soul – because it’s sung from the soul!
