Bonus Hymn, ‘Bringing in the Sheaves’

I hope no one minds an extra hymn today, and an old-time traditional one at that.

Bringing in the Sheaves, sung by Burl Ives–remember him?

We may sow while weeping, that’s for sure: but it’s also for sure that we shall harvest with joy.

  1. Thanks, Lee! For sure I remember Burl Ives 🙂 And I love this old hymn – was singing it to myself the other day.

How is your Aunt Joan doing?

    1. Praise God! That’s surely what one could hope for.

My dad had a sister whose name was Joan – she was one of my favorite aunts. She had 5 children and an alcoholic husband and yet she was the calmest, sweetest person. I do miss her.

  2. Thank you for another great old standard of the church. It is great to hear them again. Good news about your aunt, too.
I just discovered some more great songs by Chuck Girard that you might want to use in future. They sure got my attention this morning. They are:
Don’t Shoot the Wounded, Soldiers of the Lion, Tongues of Fire and The Name Above All Names. I had a wonderful morning before church just
listening to these and enjoying them.
