Oops! No More Geniuses

A scientist warns that current efforts to “edit genes” and remove genes for inherited diseases and disabilities could… well, it could ensure that no more geniuses would ever be born ( http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/747382/SCIENCE-WARNING-Messing-genes-WIPE-OUT-geniuses-earth ).

Naturally, we hate inherited diseases and would like to see them abolished. But another thing that we’ve inherited–culturally, not biologically–is this weird ideology that says that the creations of our own hands, Science and the State, will do all those things that God can’t do because He doesn’t exist. The history of the 20th century largely consists of the miseries imposed upon the human race by that ideology.

And so, armed with good intentions and the audacity of ignorance, we go trampling into uncharted territory where the slightest misstep might prove fatal–well, to somebody, at least. High overhead we carry the inspiring banner of Uniformity–physical, cultural, intellectual, political–this glorious flat same-ness that real smart people like to call Diversity.

Dirty little secret: even our geniuses aren’t all that smart. If they were, do you think we’d be in the mess we’re in today?

I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  –I Corinthians 1:19

  1. Messing with genetics is dangerous, at best. Actually, IMHO, it threatens every single living organism, which is what I believe Satan to desire. He hates that mankind, a material life form, is created in God’s image. Satan has tried to destroy us over and over again, starting in pre-flood times.

Undermining our morality has been Satan’s most often used weapon, and it’s been quite effective. But attacking us at the genetic level is even more effective if it can be done, and I believe this is the ultimate goal.

Fortunately, our God will defend His creation and save us as a race. The price was paid nearly 2,000 years ago, so we can be certain that He will act in time.

As for Geniuses: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Newton, Galileo, Faraday, among others, are all devout men that helped to explain our physical world in ways that helped mankind.

OTOH, the modern cosmologist has realized that the current scientific model does not explain the spin of galaxies unless they resort to Dark Matter, which is essentially imaginary matter that they admit to knowing nothing about and that cannot be seen or interacted with by the matter with which we are familiar. It’s existence is inferred only by their understanding of gravitation.

Then there’s Dark Energy: another imaginary thing which has no scientific explanation, but is inferred because that’s the only way to explain the observed expansion rate of the Universe; that is unless you read the bible and know that God “is stretching out the heavens”. The reasoning of today’s greatest mind boils down to believing in the Tooth Fairy, because they found a quarter under their pillow. But they’ve found two quarters and have had to confabulate two tooth fairies to support their hypotheses. Yeah, these guys are real geniuses. 🙂

  2. And to further their eradication of ‘geniuses’, (that is, the ones who actually use brain cells) it appears from a report on Fox News that Harvard, in its infinite wisdom, has decreed that in order to earn a degree in history, one is no longer required to take classes in American History! – to be more aligned with the new ‘global history’.

    Excellent comment Unknowable.
