… And Now I’m Hurt

See the source image

This is not turning out to be a good day. I injured myself recycling. Yes, recycling.

In the course of doing various errands this morning, I bent over to pull some junk out of my car and banged myself against the frame above the door. And saw stars. Yes, it hurt. Not my head; my hat protected me. But I jammed my neck but good. That’s what hurt. It will be good and stiff tomorrow morning.

What else is there to do, but keep on going?

  1. God bless you, Lee! When I first read it I thought you were saying you injured yourself cycling!
Sorry to hear that, and hope the pain goes away quickly.
In line with your final note, I quote Winston Churchill during the Second World War, “If you’re going through hell, keep going!”

    1. P.S.–Since just before Christmas, the weather has been too cold/snowy/rainy/windy for me to ride my bike. *sigh* Thank you, Evelyn.

    1. I don’t think I’ve heard that one, but I’ll look for it on youtube–and post it tomorrow morning: always looking for a hymn to start the day.

  2. Oh, no! Be very careful about that jammed neck, Lee. Time to rest and let your body repair itself. And yes, I know I sound like your mother. I wish I could email you some chicken soup. 🙂

  3. It certainly sounds like you’ve had a time of it, Lee. I pray the rest of your day is much better than the first half. Maybe you’ll be able to find a quiet and warm spot to relax with a cigar. That lamb casserole sure sounds good! 🙂

  4. I hate it when that happens! You have a nice day all planned ahead of you, and then boom, you hurt your body. Something that can bring us so much pleasure can sure bring us so much pain. Take it easy, brother, and give that neck a rest and maybe put a bag of ice on it or a warm up towel.
