R.J. Rushdoony’s ministry, which he has passed on to us at Chalcedon–and to all who wish to take it up–centered on the extension of Christ’s Kingdom: and in this, every Christian can take part. It’s work for all of us.

I think he saved the best quote for last: “Every Christian and his home is a part of this extension of Christ’s Kingdom.”

  1. Years ago, I read a biography of Elvis Presley. One outstanding quote was that Elvis hated when he was called The King. To Elvis, there was one king and that was the Christ. Now I am not holding up Elvis as a moral hero, he had some shortcomings, but I do believe that Elvis understaood the issue of Christ’s Kingdom and wanted to be compliant.

When Jesus was executed, the crowds shouted that the had no king but Caesar. They had taken a stand with regard to rulership, and this stand was in opposition to the Kingdom of God with Christ installed as King.

At this moment in time, we are not availed the full benefit of Christ as King. He may return soon, but it doesn’t appear to have happened yet. By selecting Christ as our ruler, we find ourselves at odds with the multitudes that inadvertently have chosen Satanic rule. Amen, come quickly Lord Jesus.

  2. I have been a student of Rushdoony’s for years. When I read his writings I hear a crystal-clear voice of truth speaking to me – truly an amazing teacher. My wife and I try to make our home an outpost of Paradise, as well as a shelter from the storms of an ungodly society.
