Yes, I know, I’ve posted this old Scottish hymn many times–Behold the Mountain of the Lord, sung by Godfrey Birtill. I love it, and I love how it articulates our Christian hope.
In the old Planet of the Apes movie, Charlton Heston, playing an astronaut, says of the world he came from, our world, “Somewhere out there, there has to be something better.”
But our hope is in the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth–and we don’t have to go “out there.” For the world was perfect once, as God made it, and He will heal it, He will restore that which has been lost, He will repair that which has been broken: for the Lord hath spoken it.

I super love the message of this hymn. It makes me think of the “Hallelujah Chorus” by Handel “the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of God and of His Christ.”

I really like the “Hallelujah Chorus”! We sometimes listen to Handel’s Messiah on Youtube.
