Patty found this video while she was noodling around Youtube. Never mind the whole thing: we’re only interested in the first “genius kitchen hack”–
Which features squeezing out a line of toothpaste over your fish before you grill it.
Toothpaste? The video does not explain what this is supposed to accomplish. We searched around the internet, but even the hosts on other cooking videos admitted to being puzzled by this.
Like, you’re not really supposed to eat toothpaste–right? Or am I just being old-fashioned about this? We have not found a word of explanation as to any purpose for putting a lot of toothpaste on your fish.
Maybe you could serve it with toothpaste sandwich cookies.
I’m sure some of you out there are skilled in cookery. Have you ever heard of doing this? If you know the secret, please share it with the rest of us.
Some of these were kind of clever. Some others made me think, “Why in the world would you want to?” And a few made me think, “It would be less work to use the proper tool.” But they were all kind of fun to watch. I do like gadgets.
Awesome and completely out of the box! So many quirky but clever ideas. Now I can eat fish and clean my teeth at the same time. Excuse me while I make coffee sticks, microwave a soft-boiled egg, toast bread with a hot knife, and ‘shake’ the skin off my pineapple – and SO much more!! Coca Cola’s the new, all purpose glyphosate. Who knew?
PS: Most spray bottles contain chemicals so I wonder how to clean the sprayer well enough to use for food…
Don’t spray your food with Windex.
I gotta wonder about this. Ingesting fluoride is bad news. It’s one thing to brush your teeth and spit it out, but another to take a chance of ingesting it.
I still haven’t come across any attempt at explaining it.
Sometimes I think that some of these Internet memes are just an elaborate excuse for a silly picture.
