Did It!

Hoo, boy, am I tired! But the duck is in the oven, our Christmas tree is trimmed, there’s Christmas music playing in the background, and finally I get my nice big glass of iced tea–aaaaah! Hits the spot!

The problematic little tree that we selected has turned out to be positively beautiful. I’d post a picture, but Patty’s camera has stopped working. I wish I could post pictures of some of your Christmas trees, but I have no idea how to go about it.

Anyhow, it was two hours-plus of up and down, trial and error, hanging ornaments from curtain rods, etc. There are ornaments that have to go just in the right place on the tree, or you don’t get full value from them. Hey, I minored in Art in college, I know what I’m doin’.

And yes, the cats get some of the duck. They’ve been as good as gold with the tree so far.

    1. Rats make fantastic pets, too, but a lot of people are allergic to them.
My first pet that was really a success for me was a blue collared spiny lizard, which my Grandma meant to give me for a birthday present. She died unexpectedly, but left the money in an envelope with a note, “For Lee’s lizard,” on her dresser. I think I was 11 years old at the time.

    2. Ummm gag. Are you trying to make me sick from Christmas? I don’t do well when it comes to dirty rats and icky lizards. Lizards freak the guts out of me!!! I scream when I see one! 🙂
They’ll be the death of me one of these days.

    3. That’s really sweet…and also sad. Not so sure I would want a rat, but I do like lizards. They are interesting to watch and interact with. Over the years we’ve had leopard geckos, day geckos, emerald swifts, anoles, and a bearded dragon.

    4. Rats really are sweet pets, but they don’t live very long. If a rat lived ten years, it would be reading and designing software. Wow, are they smart!
And you’ve probably guessed I love lizards. When my fence swifts had babies, that was really something!

    5. I have been surprised and shocked that our new kittens have left the tree alone…considering they climb, scratch, and play with just about everything else. It’s a Christmas miracle. 🙂
Sounds like you’re having a lovely Christmas so far. Blessings to you and Patty! Hope you have a peaceful and joyous holiday.
