Nooze-free Sunday!

From A Shaded Glade To A Sunlit Glade With Trees Disappearing ...

There has to be a clearing somewhere in this wilderness. All we have to do is find it.

I want to keep the Sabbath by steering clear of nooze. We have an infinite supply of it, no fear of running out. There will be plenty of it waiting for us tomorrow–all of it bad, I expect.

God ran out of Assyrians and Huns, so He uses Democrats to scourge us.

But not today! Judah the Maccabee never fought a battle on the Sabbath unless it was literally forced on him by the enemy–and he was battling for Israel against virtually insurmountable odds. He won anyway, by God’s grace.

Let the sword come out of the sheath again tomorrow.

Today, the Sabbath rest.

  1. Ah, yes, a day to thank the Lord for all His blessings, and to curl up with a good book and a quokka. 🙂

    1. I have no idea why this comment has not showed up on my running list of comments. WordPress glitch?
      Which book did you choose?

    2. Chesterton’s “The Man Who Was Thursday.” But I had to do without the quokka, alas.

    3. I made yesterday news free too. I needed the break! Spent my day sewing instead. I picked up a project I set aside many months ago because it required techniques I didn’t know yet. Well, yesterday I finally had to learn them. It was a nice distraction.

  2. Good news! I found the clearing. It’s in my Sunday attitude. Sometimes I wish every day was the Sabbath, but that would be too demanding – lol.

    1. Good tip. I’m trying to fill up on sanity today. First write ‘Oy, Rodney,’ then watch a scary movie. Well, Bible reading first–but that’s before breakfast.

  3. When my wife & I arrived home from church service I made us a cheese omelette and we ate to the news, but it was about rioters in Atlanta burning down a Wendy’s restaurant so we switched to Turner Classic Movie channel.
