This Imprimis piece by Heather Mac Donald, “Four Months of Unprecedented Government Malfeasance,” is a bit long; but it’s also piping hot, and well worth yokur while to read.
When public policy is brewed from a mixture of blind ideology, political opportunism, tunnel-visioned “expertise” that can’t see the forest for the trees, and sheer ignorance, we wind up just where we are now–stupid masks and all.
It’s not that there’s no such thing as COVID-19. The problem is our response to it, as Mandated (don’t you love that word?) by people who do not have our best interests at heart.
We’re going to have a long, hard time cleaning up the mess they’ve made of our country.
Unless you think all-powerful government and lots and lots of riots is a healthy combination.
I did read this article last week in the latest issue of “Imprimis.” It’s an excellent article, except that she begins by attributing the mess to “overreaction,” as though it were some sort of accidental mistake. I don’t think it was accidental or a mistake. If it had been, it would have been corrected by now instead of being not only continued but doubled down on. I think it’s been a deliberately planned set of actions using the virus as an excuse.
I agree with Phoebe, except I didn’t read last week’s Imprimis yet as i’m 3 behind. I’m gonna make this comment short for a change: The entire communist democratic party USA should be, using Pelosi’s own word, FUMIGATED! She needs to molt and show us what she really is. I’m getting sick from the toxic droppings the left leaves behind.
I fear that the harm caused by this will linger for a long, long time.
