One of the purposes of writing anything down is so that it’s the same for everybody. That’s why God caused His word to be written down.
St. Peter warns us against “private interpretation” of the scriptures. It would be hard to think of a warning that’s been less heeded.
And anyway, look how hard it is to convince anybody of anything. How often does anything we say actually change anybody’s mind?
Well, we try. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you” is a motto for this age.
It is amazing how deceived people can be. The “educated”, the dummies,
(which is pretty much the same thing, they just express themselves differently), and the believers and unbelievers. We watched a long interview last night with a man who had come here and become a citizen years ago, and a communist who was born here. The American born had graduated three colleges (top universities) and had several degrees and his only hero was Marx. Wow! When you start from the stance that there is no God, and you do not want any “god” in control, you fall into the slime pit right away and you want to drag everyone else in with you.
Liberals are like the pot-heads of the 1960s: they just can’t stand it for anyone not to be like them. They just won’t tolerate it.
I’m afraid they are going to have to tolerate it. Everyone like them is never, ever going to happen.
For a long, long time the Bible was denied as accurate because it talked about a Hittite kingdom but there was no evidence to prove it ever existed. Then in the 19th century archaeologists discovered the ruins of the Hittites and how advanced they were. Always believe the Bible, for as Jesus prophesied, “Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away” – Jesus is the Truth.
That’s why the Holy Spirit gave us spiritual discernment. God knew the Church would fail us. That’s why our Founders gave us the Constitution. They knew our government would fail us. And in both cases, we failed ourselves.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1 KJV)
False prophecy is a growth industry.
