Now Is the Time… for Whatever

I’ll never figure out blogging. Sunday we had a day that would’ve done credit to March of 2020, and there was Lee’s wife saying it’s back to normal again, they’ve fixed whatever was wrong, etc. And then the whole thing crashed again on Monday and is off to a very, very slow start today.

Byron the Quokka here, chairquokka of the Quokka U. Political Science Dept. I don’t know how I got roped into trying to revive this blog. But I suppose somebody has to do it.

I’ll be very interested to see whether those good viewership numbers can come back today, and I will certainly let you know if they do. If you don’t want to know, well, don’t read the post. Simply ignore the eye-catching headline. One of our professors, Uncle Shinbone, will be standing by to count the views as they come in, If I know him, he’s already run away to go fishing.

  1. If we are brave enough to view any of the opinion pieces, or I should say, If we are desperate enough to listen to anything just to fill empty time, there is certainly nothing to be very encouraged about. I do feel sorry for those who do not know the Lord, for in their eyes, there is nothing to be encouraged about. Whether it is the “sure to fail economy”, the empty hope that the covid scare will ever end, whether the government will be run by idiots or whatever; there is little to nothing to look forward to. I do not subscribe to their nonsense. It is like the “scientists” who spout off about the billions of years evolutionary development. pfooo.
There is great hope in the coming King who will straighten out this whole mess and make things more right than they have ever been. Look up.

  2. I’m going to try a little Pollyanna speculation here. 🙂 Can a weekend surge and a weekday plunge be a good sign, actually? Maybe that people are finally going back to work and school and shopping and don’t have as much time to hang out on blogs? Okay, okay, so now you’re going to tell me that last year before the Wuhan melodrama, readership was higher even on weekdays. Oh well. Pollyana-ism has never been my strong suit when it comes to worldly matters. My true optimism is lodged only in Christ. The rest is all sardonicism all the time. 😉

But at least the Monday plunge got us another quokka picture. That’s always a Good Thing. Just tell Uncle Shinbone to watch out for any reader views coming in from Hubei Province in China.

  3. As good of a place as any to thank you for the autographed copy of His Mercy Endures Forever.

I went to the mailbox, and what did I see?
Coming for to carry me home.
His Mercy Endures, Forever, waiting there for me,
Wanting me to carry it home.

    1. Good song, Unknowable. I can just hear you a-strummin’ away under the melody! 🙂

Come to think of it, Lee, how about adding “Swing Low” to the hymn list?

    2. There once was an author named Duigon,
Whose writing has never been too gone.
      He writes Chrisitan books,
      with int’resting hooks,
which to the crypto-zoo (have) gone.

    3. Doo-gon? Heaven forbid. There used to be a builder in the local news who’d come to my office asking for “Mr. Dugong,” which everybody out front thought was very funny, yo-ho-ho. I was covering his assorted controversies with township officials. Gee, it’s been a long time since I thought of him…
