By Request: ‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat’

I was going to post this request by Phoebe tomorrow; but then I thought, “Why wait?” Hey, it’s a song (from Guys and Dolls) about a conversion experience–and the Lord knows we need as many of those as we can get!

So here’s Clive Rowe, as Nicely-Nicely, singing Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat. “I dreamed last night I got on a boat to Heaven…” and then he dreamed a wave washed him off the boat and the Devil dragged him down: a dream that scared him into cleaning up his life.

The Holy Spirit has many ways of speaking to us. He can even use a Broadway musical to get His point across.

  1. I’d never seen this particular performance. But it’s a great song every time. I sometimes have to sing it to myself — although not about dice and whiskey. 🙂
