By Request–Another Dream!

Honest, Phoebe and I did not consult about this first. But these odd little coincidences happen around here more often than you might expect.

I write of a dream about going to Hell; and Phoebe requests this from the 1955 production of Guys and Dolls–a song about going to Heaven. They make a nice pair of bookends, don’t they?

So we have Stubby Kaye singing Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat… Additional hint: If you find yourself on a boat going to Heaven, throw your dice overboard; don’t try to start a crap game.

By Request: ‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat’

I was going to post this request by Phoebe tomorrow; but then I thought, “Why wait?” Hey, it’s a song (from Guys and Dolls) about a conversion experience–and the Lord knows we need as many of those as we can get!

So here’s Clive Rowe, as Nicely-Nicely, singing Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat. “I dreamed last night I got on a boat to Heaven…” and then he dreamed a wave washed him off the boat and the Devil dragged him down: a dream that scared him into cleaning up his life.

The Holy Spirit has many ways of speaking to us. He can even use a Broadway musical to get His point across.
