Are these cats really quite deceived, or are they just having fun? Don’t ask me–I never had a cat who chased shadows. (You should’ve seen Henry with the worry-beads, though.) My cats don’t even notice their reflections in a mirror.

I have had cats that would chase anything that moved, and even if they had to make it move, that was OK.
I think that they are. mostly, just having fun. I’ve noticed that there are times when my cat wants to play, and other times when she is more serious. When she wants to play, any.detected movement will be met with an attack.
