I’d be much obliged if a few of you would go to Newswithviews.com, open it to my column, and go down to the bottom and click the link that’s supposed to take you directly to my blog. I want to see if that link works–because it’s been about two months since I got a single referral from there. It works when I do it, but the site doesn’t bother to track anything I do myself.
The picture of the collared lizard is provided as a bonus. Pretty little beggars, aren’t they? Known as “the mountain boomer” in some parts of its range, this lizard actually has no voice. It doesn’t really boom.
Maybe we ought to check that, too. This is, after all, the Age of Nothing Works.

Nope, didn’t work for me. It didn’t get me anywhere. I know my whole system has been changed in the last few days, and I haven’t been able to fix it Part of the problem is probably my own brain fog. sigh…

Thanks for checking. Most readers found the link works–and yet my stats page still shows zero referrals from NWV. I haven’t yet found out why.
But the good news is that the comments counter shows that we’ve gone past 73,000.
I’ll have to take note of that tomorrow. Maybe the remaining 2,000 will come easier.

All I know is, I get zero referrals from NWV even though the link works, and my total viewership is half of what it was a few months ago. It’s extremely frustrating and discouraging.
I wonder how reliable WordPress’ metrics actually are.

It’s worked for just about everybody, so far–only I don’t think WordPress counts them as views. Although they swear it’s nothing they’ve done.
