Pelosi to Step Down?

Nancy Pelosi Says That Mask-less Hair Appointment Was a “Setup” | Vanity Fair

My view numbers are totally underwater today, so let’s have some political nooze. I was outdoors today, in the perishing heat, to write a piece of my new book, The Witch Box, and I ground out a Newswithviews column. Now I might as well report some nooze.

Will Nancy Pelosi step down as Speaker of the House and not seek re-election? Rumors to that effect have just emerged (https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/08/11/report-nancy-pelosi-eyes-the-exits/). The sources are Atlantic Magazine and the California Globe.

Yeah–promises, promises. Then again, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has resigned–and I didn’t think he would. Are Democrats trying to unload some of their biggest liabilities before next year’s mid-term elections?

Scuttlebutt has it that Pelosi, anticipating that Democrats will get creamed in those elections (promises, promises), and having no desire to serve in the minority, is seriously considering hanging up her spikes.

Oh, but this is too good to be true! Next thing, they’ll be telling us Chuck Schumer is about to take the noon balloon. There have been rumors before, last year and earlier this year, that Pelosi would leave Congress–and they never panned out.

Did I mention that Gavin Newsom’s chances of surviving the recall election for governor of California… are looking rather slim?

I consider it likely that, if there’s anything to these rumors, it’s only because the Dems have in mind someone even worse to replace Pelosi. How about Hunter Biden? He’d be a great fit.

Maybe we should be asking, “Whom does Xi Jin Ping want as Speaker?”

America will never be safe for as long as the Democrat Party remains viable.

  1. I always think, yeh, I’ll believe it when I see it. Once in a blue moon, something really does. We shall see.

  2. I think you’ve asked the money question in your penultimate paragraph.

And pardon me for not commenting much today. I had to take Iggy back to the vet this morning for more shots, and both of us are kind of wiped out. In fact, I’ve felt wiped out all week so far. I just don’t have the stamina any more that I had when I was a youngster of 75.

    1. He’s not happy about getting shots again, but he’s been responding pretty well to the antibiotics. The vet says he’ll probably need to come in periodically for fluids and anti-nausea medication as his kidneys continue to decline, but she seems to think we can keep him going for quite a while. She did keep my Himalayan, CoCo, alive and happy for almost 2 years after his cancer diagnosis, so I feel confident in her.

And thank you for your prayers. You, your family, and all the “regulars” here are in my own daily prayers.

  3. I pray that this evil is exposed. With Nancy Pelosi, I don’t think it’s so much hanging up spikes as it is returning her broom to the purpose its manufacturer intended. 🙂

I am not counting on anything, at this point. There is a lot of turmoil everywhere and I can find no scriptural reason to believe that the US will be uniquely blessed. While the US was much more a Christian nation in the past, these days, the nation overall is not living to Christian standards.

In the prophecy of Ezekiel, where it talks about the attack of Gog of Magog, it mentions the merchants of Tarshish as questioning this attack. Some Bible scholars feel that Tarshish is Britain and that this would indicate that Britain and the former colonies, such as the US, would remain in existence up to the time of Gog of Magog. I am willing to believe this, but there are other interpretations of Tarshish, so I’m not hanging my every hope on this being the case, but there are a number of interpretations of prophecy which have concluded that the powers which arose from Great Britain are the 7th king of Daniel and would remain in existence until the return of Christ, albeit with its power diluted by globalism.

But I must stress, these are interpretations of scripture, made by fallible humans. I wouldn’t wager my next paycheck on any of these being right.

I pray for this country and I pray that the wicked schemes of those who seek to harm it will be exposed. It’s all I can do.

    1. Tarshish has been located all over the place, but I learn toward Tartessus in Spain, a Carthaginian colony that was a major trading center.

    1. Some people are afraid they’ll use COVID for another round of vote by mail… and steal another election. I don’t see how you can do that twice, but maybe I need new glasses.
