We watch almost no contemporary American TV. And if we do, we’re shocked. Really, the quality just isn’t there.
And the main reason it’s so bad is, they keep plugging their politics into the story.
We watched an award-winning episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Because of their fetish for “diversity,” and their mania for preaching it at the audience, almost every scene was crowded and tedious, as each and every group in New York City had to be represented at all times. This was supposed to be the cream of the crop. I can’t imagine what the bad episodes were like.
If you want to give a speech, give a speech. If you want to preach a sermon, preach a sermon.
And if you’ve got a story to tell, for heaven’s sake, just tell it.
That would be too simple and straightforward for today’s people. If they have a soap box of any kind, they use it for indoctrination. Remember the guy who said “never let a good crisis go to waste”? That is their mind set on all fronts. The “scientists” are screaming about the special species of woodpecker and its disappearance from earth. I can’t imagine who is plodding through the forests counting remaining woodpeckers. If course, we are not to question that, just mourn their passing and hate ourselves, humans’ who are responsible for this tragedy. They make me sick.
“Law & Order: SVU” is the only Law & Order series still being produced. My favorites are the originals with Lenny Briscoe as the detective and McCoy as the prosecutor. Many lean left but not as blatantly as SVU.
The other night I watched a “Have Gun, Will Travel” episode from the 50s. It was about 2,000 times better than anything new.
