We’ve all seen a mother duck lead her ducklings to wherever she wants them to go. But here someone, somewhere, got their signals crossed and the ducklings have locked on to a puppy as their mother figure. Do they expect him to lead them to the water?
The pup exhibits some sheepdog-like herding moves. The ducklings follow him wherever he goes. He can’t get away from them.
Domestication is… weird.
Oh, that reminds me of the time when we had been married only a short time, someone at my husband’s work place gave him a big dog, German Shepherd, I think, and then someone gave him a flock of baby ducks, and they decided to let the dog be their guide, and they followed him everywhere, even all around the block.
That is strange. Imagine life if a puppy was your touchstone to reality. 🙂
