Did we wake up in East Germany today, circa 1960?
The mayor of Washington, D.C., has decreed that no one can leave home, or gain access to any public place, “without papers”–to wit, a government-issued photo ID and “proof of vaccination” (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/01/wayne-root-father-almost-died-country-fighting-okinawa-today-son-can-no-longer-walk-streets-washington-dc-without-papers/).
Photo ID??? Aren’t these the same people who are telling us it would be tyranny to ask you for a photo ID before you vote?
So, if you want to visit a restaurant, a gym, or a shopping mall… it’s “Papers, please!” or you don’t get in.
What happened to all those “rights” we used to have?
How do we get them back?
Or don’t we?
I almost wish I were back on my old neighborhood association board, where they were screeching that demanding photo IDs in order to vote was racist. (I lived in a predominantly black neighborhood.) Even though the neighborhood wasn’t in D.C., I still wonder what they’re saying about the D.C. demand for photo IDs in order to eat in a restaurant.
Come to think of it, I wonder what black residents of D.C. are saying about it. Maybe some sit-ins and eat-ins are called for, like in the old days of the 1950s civil rights movement.
They see no conflict in their lunatic assessment of photo IDs.
This is an attempt to prevent unvaccinated, conservative senators from preventing the passage of a voter rights bill which would favor the Dems.
“Voter rights”–these hypocrites need to be struck by lightning.
At the very least, they’ll be answering some tough question on Judgment Day.
This insanity is only happening in Dem controlled cities and states. In California they are suing a church because they do not require their pre-kindergarten children to wear masks. There are 50 states and the majority of them are red (conservative). States need to throw off the dominance of the federal government and get back to the Constitution by using what Madison and Jefferson called nullification, refusing to enforce unconstitutional federal laws.
