Our cat Buster, the jolliest cat ever, was virtually fearless; but he did startle rather easily. If he was walking past you and you scraped your shoe on the floor, his hindquarters would shoot straight up while his forepaws stayed put–and then he’d pretend he hadn’t noticed anything.
You have to admire the athletic prowess of a startled cat.
I know exactly how they feel. I react very similarily when anything unexpected disturbs me. With me, it is a neurological condition. I don’t know what their excuse is
They’re cats, they don’t need one.
