Kittens Searching for Lost Cities

Well, okay, they didn’t find any! Is that my fault? How many lost cities have you found lately?

Ah, it’s been a long time since we had kittens romping around our living room. When Robbie and Peep discovered they could fluff out their tails and run sideways, they couldn’t get enough of it. They grow out of it, though, so enjoy it while you’ve got it.

  1. Kittens are a living contradiction. They are harmless creatures, but act as fierce as any Bengal Tiger, at least for a few seconds at a time. My cat still fluffs up her tail and dances sideways, from time to time. I’ll walk into the kitchen, minding my own business, and she’ll affect a startled look, arch her back, double the apparent diameter of her tail, and skitter a bit. If I have a free moment, I’ll give chase, and she’ll run into a spare bedroom whith lots of great hiding places, from where she can plot her ambush. 🙂

    1. I am bushwhacked on a regular basis by my furry little roommate. As I write, she is sitting beside me, in a slightly oversized recliner, and washing herself. She’s extremely peaceful, except for when she isn’t peaceful. 🙂

  2. That’s a great playroom for the cats! Ah, if only I (and Iggy) were younger….

Speaking of Iggy and ages, Iggy will be 18 years old (God willing) this coming Friday, 1 July. I still think of him as a little kitten. But then again, I still think of myself as being only 33. Then I move and my body says “Guess again.”

    1. Actually, I wouldn’t want to go through my youth again. We always say, “Ah, if I could only do that over again, knowing what I know now.” But if we’d known then what we know now, we might avoid the mistakes we made then but we’d just make other mistakes instead. And we’d have all that extra time to make more of them. Nah, better the way things are. Besides, aches and pains notwithstanding, I’m now a lot closer to seeing Jesus face-to-face than I was back then.
