Oh, I wish this video were longer! It brings back fond memories of Robbie as a kitten, lugging my wife’s slippers around the living room. A slipper was slightly bigger than she was, at the time.
I imagine a cat has big plans for these slippers… and we’d be shocked if we knew what they were.
Why do cats carry things around? I imagine that it’s either their hunting instinct, or related to caring for their young. I’ve noticed that if my cat finds something of interest to her, she frequently takes it somewhere else, before she: plays with it, chews on it, stomps on it with her left rear foot. I have no idea why.
Robbie has outgrown her penchant for carrying Patty’s slippers around the living room. I wish I could find that video.
It’s adorable behavior. They seem to take it very seriously, and I have the impression that they put a lot of effort into it.
