Four-Legged Fishermen

So two dogs decide to go fishing…

No, it’s not a joke. They really did–and look at all the fish they caught. Huge salmon, almost as big as the dogs. How many did they catch, and what did they do with them? Inquiring minds want to know.

  1. Those are big fish.

Here is an update concerning the quakes we are having:

This series of quakes is not over. On Sunday December 3rd, we had tremors every 15 or 20 minutes for a number of hours. And for a while, it seemed the ground never stopped shaking. A few were strong. Last night another strong quake woke us up and we headed outside. Judging by other quakes we have experienced; it was probably somewhere between (6 to 7). It wasn’t as intense as the other night, but still, when a quake is going on, you never know just how strong it will become or how long it will last.

There have been more tremors and quakes the last two days, then the total amount I have experienced during the last 15 years. There were two small tremors within the last five minutes. I think we are going to eat lunch at Shakey’s Pizza.

I have a friend that lived in California for much of his life, but now lives here. He owns a small island 10 miles from the epicenter. He stopped over yesterday. He has about $20,000 to $30,000 in damages from the quake.

    1. Mike, we’ve just watched a news report on the quake. We’re very glad you and your family are still with us.
We only have very small and quite rare quakes here in New Jersey.
      And you’ve got volcanoes, too!

  2. Don’t forget the typhoons and very heavy rainfall at times. Here on the Southern island of Leyte, in February 2006, battering torrential rains dumped 79 inches of rain in just 10 days! My home town of Milwaukee only gets about 45 inches a year.

But we also get a lot of beautiful rainbows.

    1. I’ve lived in three basic climates: a northern tier state with harsh winters, the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies with a lot of climatic variability, and the desert Southwest, with harsh summers and dry winters where the wind can seem very cold, even if the air temperature is 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Colorado was the only place I truly liked, and had it not turned itself into a replica of SoCal, both politically and economically, I’d love to go back. For whatever the reason, the climate of Denver is much to my liking.
