I couldn’t find the tortoise zoomies video that I was looking for, so I’ve gone with one of my all-time favorite critter videos.
Somewhere behind these crazy antics there must be a story. And I’ll be there are two very different sides to it.

that is one very fast runner.l Kinda gave me a chuckle for the evening.
Oh, I forgot in the great confusion around here. I was going to see if you want to post
Noel tomorrow, if you haven’t already and I missed it.
I’ll post it tomorrow–thanks, Erlene.
Did you mean “The First Noel”?
That just might be my favorite critter Zoomie video.
It’s irresistible.
I love this one. It’s always worth repeating.
The poor little dog got PTSD because the cat swatted him. 🙂 That is hilarious. I wonder if animals have as much fun doing these things as we humans have, when we watch.
My experience tells me they have a sense of humor.
I would agree. I had a dog that loved to tease me. He knew he was doing it, and seemed to have an obvious sense of humor.
My cat seems to like to deliberately act up when she wants attention, which strikes me as demonstrating a sense of propriety, and understanding how to bend the rules, but not bend them too far. Sometimes she loves to arch her back and fluff up her tail when I walk into a room, and pretend that she’s reacting to me as a threat. It’s all make believe, and she knows that. I’ll pretend to be chasing her, and she jumps up on top of the cabinets to get away. Then I act like I’m unsuccessfully trying to reach her, and she’ll calmly walk over and sniff my fingers. She knows that it’s all a game, and that seems to indicate the ability to distinguish between real and imaginary.
If you think about jokes, many of them start as a story which is crafted to lead you to a certain set of expectations, and then you add an ironic/humorous twist, which makes it funny. So humor would require the ability to distinguish between false expectations and the change of direction from the punch line, sort of like a cat pretending to be frightened of you, and then sniffing your fingertips, and maybe even licking your fingers. My little cat doesn’t know the meaning of many words, but she can still deliver a joke. 🙂
This always gives me a laugh. Ina
