Winston Churchill couldn’t stop the madness. For a time it affected him, too.
1936 was the last chance to avoid World War II–and Britain’s leaders let it pass. From then on, everything they did was another step closer to disaster.
Will we ever learn? Feckless politicians, daft policies–that combination is never going to turn out right.
How long are we going to get away with it? Britain had not quite four years till the storm broke over their heads. How much time do we have?
No, we will never learn until we submit to the Almighty who truly does know what is best. I have known for many years that mankind is not capable of governing himself.
Very true.
Madness is a highly contagious disease. Without Churchill, history would have been so different that it’s unlikely that most of us would ever have been born, yet, it almost didn’t happen.
As it was, Churchill led Western Civilization away from the brink. We could use his talents, today.
Have you no faith in Jobydin?
In all fairness, he has at least quit funding UNWRA, in support of Israel. I don’t, for one minute, think that Biden has stepped away from his folly, but at least he’s done this one thing.
I don’t claim to know all of Churchill’s history, but I know that he had an affinity for the Jewish people and gave support to restoration of their desire to return to their homeland.
Some soldiers in Jordan have been killed and more wounded – when do we start taking the Middle East seriously?
Are you kidding? Foreign policy is not this White House’s cup of tea.
The Middle East has been a prominent part of many wars, and people forget that WW I was about more than Germany and Austro-Hungary. The Ottoman Empire was a major factor in WW I, and in WW II, there was action in North Africa. The Middle East has been in dispute for a very long time.
As things have progressed, problems thousands of miles away which seemed irrelevant to our interests can no longer be ignored. Global communications have changed everything, so the problems become much more difficult to ignore. I have coworkers on the other side of the globe, in Asia, who are concerned, even distressed by what happened on October 7. I pray for peace, but I’m not holding my breath. I just hope that this doesn’t spread into a global conflict.
