Irish Referendum: Good News!

Ireland’s NGOs, media, and public office-holders are reeling from a catastrophic defeat in a recent nation-wide referendum on two proposed changes in the country’s constitution (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/03/after-crushing-defeat-irish-referendum-pushed-leftists-fine/). They can’t believe they got such a shellacking; and a few politicians have suggested they change course, big-time, before they’re all voted out of office.

Proposed changes in Ireland’s “family amendment”–67% NO.

A “care referendum”–74% NO.

These measures, which would have redefined “family” and brought in all sorts of Far Left innovations, were thunderously rejected by the voters despite strong YES campaigns by NGOs (“activists” for a variety of leftist causes), the nooze media, and the government itself. A few office-holders are now wondering if they overestimated public support for the NGOs’ pet projects. Uh, ya think?

So maybe things will get better now for Ireland. And maybe it’ll start a trend.

Pray that it’s so.

  1. How encouraging to see that this messed up world does still contain some people with common sense, intelligence and higher morals.
