Gov. Ron DeSantis: no Satanists need apply.
Getting back to work, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has reassured his state that a new, voluntary, school chaplain program, recently signed into law, will not include volunteers from The Satanic Temple (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/04/florida-governor-desantis-satanists-cant-be-part-school/).
He can’t shut down the public schools, so maybe this would be the next best thing. The chaplains will be there to provide students with various services and “support.”
Asked about the exclusion of Satanists as chaplains, the governor said “We’re not playing those games in Florida.” The program will be 100% voluntary, he said, and based on “common sense”–hence no Temple of Satan involved.
Satanists, of course, have threatened a lawsuit over this, and their head honcho has challenged the governor to debate him. Honk if you think that would be a good idea.
A “Satanist chaplain” is an oxymoron anyway.
My goodness, to think that evil has become so bold as to think they should be welcome in this capacity. Lord, help us before it is beyond help.
Chaplains for the public scools seems like a good idea to me as long as they exclude Satanists. The military, since 1977, has listed Church of Satan as a recognized religion. They don’t have Satanist chaplains yet because the number of declared military Satanist members is not enough to warrant it. Hopefully, lawsuits and pro-satan pressure will not succeed against Florida schools.
I would be averse to embarking on any kind of war, with Satanist chaplains in the ranks. Sort of daring God to smack us down.
