Speaking of “beyond redemption”…
According to the New York Times (who else?), the biggest “threat to American democracy” is [trumpet fanfare]… the Constitution!
This is what happens when they don’t teach civics anymore.
Does the Canadian-born pinhead who wrote this even know what “democracy” is? Or why our country’s founders steered way clear of it and gave us a republic instead? Does she know how Athens lost the Peloponnesian War? (Oh, come now!) Has she only just discovered that the United States is a republic, not a “democracy”? And that’s by law. The Constitution is the law of the land, and it guarantees, in Article IV, Section 4, a republican form of government.
Dadburn that pesky Constitution! Gettin’ in the way of Our Democracy!
At least she didn’t call for communism. Yet.

Obviously our education system has failed us, dismally; aided and abetted by our lamestream stupid nooze media.
It’s too late to teach these niddies the difference between a republic and a democracy. We have to swamp them in this year’s election and never, never, never let them get anywhere near to power ever again.

Well, yes, the Constitution is a threat to simple democracy — on purpose. It’s also a threat to oligarchy, monarchism, Marxism, and lots of other forms of government — on purpose. The level of ignorance in the media and academia is breathtaking.

Great succinct post, Lee. It is maddening to me when Tucker Carlson and other super stars in the Conservative ranks go on and on about our democracy. Of all people, they should know better.
