They’re taking away our Stop & Shop supermarket, and of course no one has any say in it, no one but “corporate” someones who really don’t give a ****. So today we had to find another store.
“Change”–how hard do our politicians try to sell us that? And of course all they really mean is “change” that benefits them and their fat-cat donors and leaves the rest of us out in the cold.
Lots and lots and lots of things have changed in my lifetime, and very few of them for the better. That beautiful town I used to live in–and I haven’t moved!–they’ve trashed it but good. You’d never recognize it.
I wonder if I have time for a cigar… before they change that, too.
Change seems constant. I remember a Stop & Shop in Minnesota, when I was a kid, and assume it was part of the chain, but haven’t seen one in many years. Living in the west, I don’t think the chain ever reached west to the Missouri.
Sorry that you lost your nearby store.
The other store, Shop-Rite, probably will meet our needs. But it’ll take time to get used to it.
Beats Shop-Wrong. 🙂
Our City Elders group is fighting the U.N.’s Agenda 2030 that our city’s Board of Directors is trying to implement on our town in the name of safety and progress, but when you read between the lines it is advocating EQUITY, a word mentioned 118 times in the 91-page document. So why does the BOD go against the wishes of the citizens? It is a grab for the federal grant money the Biden-Harris passed by the tie breaking vote of Kamala in the Senate. The city gets $35 million in grants and only has to pay back 20% of it, when our city is already 750 million dollars in debt to the EPA regulations for our outdated sewer system. Last night at our Concerned Citizens Townhall we had 115 in attendance and a speaker from a Kansas town that successfully stopped the same plan being foisted upon them. Fight, Fight, Fight. USA, USA, USA.
Amen. God help us.
