Ryan Walters
Let’s start the New Year with some good news.
Oklahoma’s state superintendent of schools, Ryan Walters, has pledged to “eliminate politically slanted viewpoints” and “drive woke indoctrination from our schools” (https://www.yahoo.com/news/ryan-walters-announces-proposed-social-163822486.html).
“Voters elected President Trump” he said, “with a clear mission” to drive “woke” from Oklahoma’s schools and “bring back the Bible.” When he announced these plans last month, two lawsuits were filed to stop them. The suits have not yet been tried.
Early in the month Walters drove the far-left American Library Assn. from the state’s schools.
Is it morning in America?
I certainly hope and pray that it is morning in America.
Hurrah for him, and may the Lord bless and help him accomplish some blessings for the students. It is way past time somebody had the backbone to stand up for what is right.
The way he’s phrased the new standards is good, but it appears that the older standards were slanted against the founding and growth of the USA. So why did he praise them? And why has he changed now?
Those are good questions. Once upon a time he voted for some of those standards which he now wants to eliminate. Well, I’m here to encourage him.
I also favor doing away with public education altogether.
Yes, it is morning in America, a very good morning! Give Trump about six months to get us out of the sluggish economy left to him by his predecessor, then it is up, up, and away. Of course, those who still watch MSM and local TV news won’t see it – too much mental fog from the gas lighters.
