“Emergency, emergency! Somebody said something I don’t like!”
President Donald Trump has his work cut out for him.
Eight states, 12 “jurisdictions” (cities, counties), now have “Bias Response Hotlines” which you can call and rat out anyone who has said anything that you find offensive (https://freebeacon.com/policy/inside-state-run-bias-response-hotlines-where-fellow-citizens-can-report-your-offensive-joke/). We would be astounded to discover that these, er, “protections” are to be extended to Christians or Republicans. Somehow it never, ever turns out that way.
“Offensive jokes” are on the menu–Oregon will pay for therapy for POCs and other frail characters who are offended–and state action is “based solely on the feelings of this offended.”
They avoid First Amendment violations by making out that remarks that are “offensive” may also be “non-criminal” and anyway they just wanna be sure nobody’s telling offensive jokes and getting away with it. They’re not going to through you in jail for telling a joke: but they will bother you. Gotta get your mind right, y’know.
It is estimated 100 million Americans live under such a regime–the Grand Crusade Against Hate.
God knows how many years it’ll take to get rid of it.
Growing up, I heard some offensive things, and some were aimed directly at me. I survived. I’m no fan of offensive speech, but in many places, it has become a tattletale environment where words are taken out of context and innocent people suffer humiliation, if not loss of income, because someone chose to misinterpret a non offensive statement as something it was never intended to be. A simple greeting can be be interpreted as a micro aggression, if all else fails.
When I was in grade school, there were a handful of kids who loved to tattle and get others into trouble with the teacher. That childish spirit lives on, to this day.
And I’ll bet the teacher loved to reward them!

You can hardly blame them. I had said “dang”, and you can’t let such egregious behavior go unpunished. 🙂
That’s the Grass Roots for you; they have to be transformed by grace through faith or else they will always be with us – they are people who think they are their own gods.
