[The announcement didn’t come out visually.]

Patty and I are both in tears. I went to YouTube and discovered that the little white therapy dog and heart-stealer, Norbert, had just passed away. He was just shy of his 16th birthday.

Norbert, you never failed to give us joy, never failed to bring some sweetness into our lives. How many human beings can say the same?

Here’s a little bit of Norbert, from eight years ago.

  1. That’s sad to hear. What an amazing little fellow he was.

When we see an amazing animal, we are seeing our Creator’s work. The era of video recording has brought us a wealth of animal videos, and we’ve all seen some amazing things on these videos. Animals are intelligent, and can be much better behaved than some humans. All I can say is that in the restitution of all things, our Maker will abundantly supply us from His bounty, including the gift of amazing animals.

May you rest in peace, little Norbert. You were a shining example of the gift our God has given us, including the form of animals.

  2. That is sad news, but we know it is going to happen to everyone and every animal sooner or later, though it is sad. We will miss him.

    1. It’s hard for me to post cat videos, since we lost Robbie last June–just before my own health crashed. I’m now without a pet for the first time since I was 5 or 6 years old. It doesn’t feel right.

    2. I know what you mean, Lee. Since Iggy died a year and a half ago, I’ve been without a cat in the house for the first time since I was 18. But I do still watch cat videos because I love cats so much. (Teddy Kittens is a good YouTube channel, by breeders of British Shorthairs.) The only times I have problems is when a video features a ginger cat who looks too much like Iggy.

    3. And I can’t bring in a new cat while I’m this sick and Patty’s already overworked. And I don’t have the facilities for a baby iguana.

  3. Poor little Norbert. He’d been having health problems for a while. It’s been hard to watch his decline, but his family took very good care of him and he did have a long life. He was very much loved.
