They don’t like church–either in real space or in cyberspace.
Maybe because it was an election year, in 2016 YouTube was full of atheists complaining about Christian hymns on Christian websites.
I no longer doubt they know what they’re doing. I think they damn well know. They look at China, Russia, and the European Union and are torn between fantasy and envy: fantasy, in that they convince themselves that these political arrangements would ever morph into anything but tyranny; and envy, because North Korea has it and we don’t! Oh, if only their government packed the coercive wallop that they have in North Korea!
In Genesis 3:15 God states that He will put enmity between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. Christ’s very existence, through the line of Abraham was opposed violently and to those in our day, whom make the choice to serve the ends of that original serpent, worshippers of the One True God are the enemy.
So it’s not surprising, but the thinking involved puzzles me. There are any number of things happening in around me that I don’t like, from the mundane to matters of great importance. I don’t like anchovies on pizza, but I don’t hassle someone at the local pizza joint if they choose to order anchovies. On a much more serious note, people make choices which will do them no good, such as drug abuse, but sometimes all any of us can do is leave them to their choices.
Of course, the worst decision is to choose to serve the ends of that original serpent, and sadly that happens all around us. I certainly do not encourage anyone to make that choice, but I respect their right to make their own choices, and most importantly, I never seek to interfere, or meddle.
Some people seem to not know where they end, and others begin. Such persons seek to impose their will upon others, brimming with self assurance and in full confidence that everyone would be better off following their advice. I’ve known people like that, including one relative who routinely imposes their will upon others, even meddling in marriages. Such people do not respect boundaries and can’t leave others to their own choices.
If someone wants to post a hymn. It doesn’t harm anyone. If a non believer doesn’t like that, they don’t have to listen.
And then they’re astonished when they discover that other people detest them.
It really is amazing just how self absorbed these people can be. It never seems to occur to them that the opinions of others may have value.
As to WordPress; they are becoming pathetic. Their AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) is pathetic. I’m stunned that they can’t seem to get this right.
*Sigh*
P.S.–WordPress erased your other comment and my “thank you.”
This machine has been getting more and more erratic.
