I am very sorry to be so late with this, but I have been very busy. Lee’s surgery went well and he is recovering. He is as hungry as blazes, because he is on a clear liquid diet right now. When you think of it, he has not had real food since Sunday.
The great news is the surgeon was able to do a resection without a colostomy, so all is normal.
Now for the really good news.
Lee has an idea for a new book. It is not part of the series, but rather an alternative history. He has thought a lot about it and tomorrow when I visit I am bringing him a blank notebook. That is great, because he had been rather down what with all that was going on. I can’t tell you how much his morale has improved.
This may be a little disjointed, but bear with me.
I will keep everyone posted.

It’s going to be a long, hard road.
Great news. I would imagine that he has plenty of reason for optimism, at this point. It will probably be a little while before he can really jump back into solid foods, but broth, Jello etc. will keep a person going for quite a while. The good news is that he will probably regain his health in leaps and bounds. I had intestinal problems years ago, and when I recovered, it was like a new lease on life.
