Hey NFL, Why This Guy?

After watching several videos of Bad Bunny, here’s my take.

He can talk very fast, he is Hispanic, he is a cross dresser and very much anti Trump.  He can check off a lot of boxes.  The NFL picked him to aggravate many people in this country, and that’s the whole idea.

I did notice a discernible  lack of real talent.

What I don’t understand is how allegedly normal people are still so immersed in football.  After all the taking-a-knee stuff?

Some questions are best left to philosophers.

  1. That’s what I don’t understand. Even going back for decades, there were pro football players who seemed to delight in being as offensive as possible, but it seems to be increasing. Here’s the thing, the NFL isn’t selling something I need. A good football game can be enjoyable to watch, but I’m not going to watch people who insult my values. Honestly, I don’t care about what they do on their time, it’s not my business, but I don’t want to be lectured by the woke and if someone is deliberately trying to be offensive, that’s their prerogative, but I’ll be changing the channel.

    1. Exactly. We can vote with the Off/On switch. I don’t even have TV per se , we always watched what we wanted on the computer.

    2. I haven’t watched broadcast TV for most of my adult life. Award winning series have come and gone without my watching so much as one episode. In my early twenties, I suddenly began to find TV very predictable and repetitive, and just quit watching. There is no cable where I live, and while I had Dish Network for a while, I watched it so rarely that it was probably costing me more than one dollar for every minute watched. I don’t begrudge anyone their TV, but I just don’t see it as time well spent, anymore.

What I don’t understand at all is why pro sports has become what it has become. It’s like they have all taken a page from pro wrestling’s tactics. I don’t need this, and I would never pay extra for this sort of nonsense, with special sports subscriptions, etc.
