Somehow, today is slipping through my fingers without much getting accomplished.
I went down several online rabbit holes, searching for information, and before I knew it, hours were gone. I was expecting a UPS delivery today, and after coming in from two minutes on the back step, found he had come and gone. He will be back tomorrow
At least I was able to talk to my computer guru, and also to make an appointment with my pulmonologist (for next March). Why does this computer tell me I am spelling pulmonologist incorrectly?
There is so very much to be done.
My daughter told me to take the day off.
I think I will follow her advice.
God bless everybody.
Patty
I’ve had the same kind of day. Mid afternoon, and I’ve yet to accomplish all that much.
I am so glad I’m not alone in this. Patty
There’s a yard full of overgrown desert grasses begging to be mowed, so it won’t be a total loss. We had rains into late September, and the plant life has gone mad.
At least I don’t have to get involved with that. The landlord takes care of it. It would be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back! Patty
I’m not as enthusiastic about mowing as I used to be.
I got so much done today, I’m now 6 months ahead on my list. Oh, wait, I checked the date again, I really feel bad, it turns out I’m still 9 months behind.
Here we have had a lot of rain, with hot temperatures. That means if you don’t cut your grass and plants, and pull out the weeds at least once a week, if you let it go for 3 weeks, you will need a machete to cut your way through. Some vines here, grow about 1-2 feet a day.
Mike, that got a real belly laugh from me! You have made my day., Patty
By way of contrast, I mow most of my yard once a year. Closest to my house, I may mow more often because rain runoff from the roof encourages plant growth, but overall, it’s once per year. But that’s due to the climate. It is dry here, with few exceptions, roughly 10 months of the year, and then we have summer monsoons. During monsoons, I will mow close to the house, but for most of my yard, mowing that often would be pointless.
When the monsoons arrive, the desert grasses can grow two feet almost overnight. A standard lawn mower is all but useless for grasses that tall, but a walk behind line trimmer is very effective.
You are welcome.
Here is a poem from my book “The Path Life Takes,” I think it fits the kind of day you have had.
GOING NOWHERE
At times I wonder where I’m going.
I don’t know where I’ve been.
So I’ll probably be arriving
Nowhere once again.
I don’t remember what I’ve done.
I don’t know what I’ll do.
Every careful plan I held
Vanished from my view.
I feel I’m going nowhere fast,
But soon I shall arrive.
It should be much more pleasant
Where I feel I can abide.
My jumbled thoughts are playing
Havoc with my mind.
Here and there, and everywhere,
I’m running out of time.
Twist and straight, love and hate,
Are tearing at my soul.
Pain and pride, walk and stride,
Will never make me whole.
Evil days and prideful ways
Are roaring like the tide.
So now that I’ve confused you all,
I think I’ll run and hide.
